Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 October 2026

This policy explains what SpeakingLab (speakinglab.online) collects when you use the site, the free speaking score, Open Mic sessions and cohorts, and what we do with it. In plain words.

1. What we collect

  • Your WhatsApp number, and whether you ticked the box for reminders and practice tips (with the time you ticked it).
  • If you choose “Continue with Google”: your name, email address and Google account ID. See section 4.
  • Which page you signed up on and, if you arrived from a campaign link, its UTM tags.
  • For Open Mic sign-ups: the session you picked. For teams enquiries: the company and team details you typed.
  • If you pay for a cohort by UPI: the payer name and UPI reference shown in our bank app, so we can confirm your seat.

2. Your practice recordings

  • The 60-second practice tool records in your browser. If you only play it back, the audio never leaves your device.
  • If you ask for a free speaking score, the audio is sent once to our speech-to-text provider, turned into text, and deleted right after scoring. We never store the audio.
  • We keep the transcript and the scores, linked to your WhatsApp number, so we can send you your result and improve the scoring.
  • Free scores are limited to 3 per number per day.

3. Shareable score pages

  • Each score gets a private link. Anyone with the link sees only your first name (if you signed in with Google) and your scores. Never your number or what you said.
  • You can delete it from the result screen, from the page itself in the same browser, or by writing to us.

4. Google user data

  • “Continue with Google” is optional. We request only your basic profile: name, email address and account ID. We do not access your contacts, Gmail, Drive, calendar or any other Google data.
  • We use it only to attach your name and email to your sign-up, to send you the free resources you asked for, and to send emails about sessions you booked.
  • We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the processors in section 5 that help us run the service. We do not use it to train AI models.
  • You can remove access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and ask us to delete the data by writing to hello@speakinglab.online.
  • SpeakingLab’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Who processes it

  • Leads and scores are stored in a Google Sheet that only the SpeakingLab team can open.
  • Speech-to-text and scoring run through an AI provider’s API (currently Groq). They process the request to return a result; we do not allow our data to be used to train their models.
  • Emails go out through our email provider (currently Brevo). Analytics, if enabled, never receives your name, number or email.

6. What we do with it

  • Send you the Open Mic joining link and, if you ticked the box, reminders and practice tips on WhatsApp.
  • Reply to your enquiry, confirm payments, and run the sessions you booked.
  • We do not sell or rent your details to anyone.

7. How long we keep it

  • Lead details and scores: until you ask us to delete them, or two years after your last contact with us, whichever is sooner.
  • Audio recordings: not kept at all.

8. Your rights and contact

  • Write to hello@speakinglab.online to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Tell us your WhatsApp number and we will act within seven days.
  • Reply STOP to any WhatsApp message from us and we will stop sending reminders and tips.
  • We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
